Chris Watford is entering his third season with the Bears after joining the staff as an assistant coach in 2019.
Prior to joining UCA, Watford spent six seasons as the head coach at Mississippi Delta Community College from 2013-18. Before joining MDCC, he served as an assistant football and softball coach at Riverside High School. Watford made a brief stop in Conway, as an assistant coach for the Bears in 2012. From 2006-2011, he served as an assistant coach at Nicholls State University and that was after a two-year stint as an assistant at Stephen F. Austin in 2005-06.
Watford spent 10 years playing men’s fast pitch softball and pitched five of those years. He was a member of the Delta Traverlers and competed at three National Tournaments. He helped Memphis Posse win an ASA Class B National Championship.
