The University of Central Arkansas women's basketball coaching staff is pleased to announce its camp dates for this summer, with a team camp and three individual day camps available for girls entering grades 1-12. The camps will be under the direction of the UCA women's basketball coaching staff, led by 27-year head coaching veteran and 2014 CollegeSportsMadness.com Southland Conference Coach of the Year Sandra Rushing – a 9-time coach of the year with more than 450 wins and a pair of Final Fours to her credit.
The Sugar Bears have a long history of success and continued that in 2015-16 – winning 28 games, capturing their first Southland Conference tournament championship and advancing to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship tournament, where they faced off against Louisville in the opening round. Over the last seven seasons the Sugar Bears have averaged more than 20 wins per season and scored wins against highly recognizable programs such as Alabama, Ole Miss, Indiana and Tulsa. In addition to 2016's championship season, the Sugar Bears won the Southland Conference regular season championship in 2012 (with current Sugar Bear assistant coach Destinee Rogers serving as the team's floor general as starting point guard), appeared in three national postseason tournaments and have produced four Southland Conference Players of the Year and two Freshmen of the Year since 2010, including having both the Player and Freshman of the Year in 2014.
