UCA and UWF will meet for the first time on Saturday. Both were members of the DII Gulf South Conference at the same time, but before UWF fielded a football team. The Argonauts are playing their 11th season of football this year while the Bears have been playing since 1908. UWF joined the UAC this summer as they make the move from DII to FCS DI.

Head Coach Nathan Brown (9^th season):
The Bears opened their season with a 36-24 win at #22 UT Martin. Donovyn Omolo was named UAC Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 3 TDs and going 20-27 on passing attempts totaling 243 yards, he also ran for 118 yards. Arlie Lee caught 2 TD passes and lead the team with 70 receiving yards. Ashtyn Williams led the defense with 16 tackles, 8 of them solo tackles.
 
Argonauts: 1-0, (0-0) Ranked 25^th in the Stats Perform FCS Poll
Head Coach Kaleb Nobles (4^th season):
The Argonauts opened their season at home last Thursday vs #16 Southern Illinois. In their first FCS Div I game the Argos won, 34-31. Ty'Ray Davis, the Argos QB, went 7-17 for 109 yards and 2 TDs passing. Davis also ran the ball 18 times for 109 yards and 1 TD. Bryron Puryear, a senior DE for the Argos, made 7 tackles, 3 of those tackles were for loss. Puryear also had a QB sack and a QB hurry in the game earning him UAC Defensive Player of the Week.
