Women's Soccer Falls at Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team had its two-game winning streak ended Sunday afternoon, dropping a road match at Oklahoma State.

The Bears (3-4-1) held their own early before ultimately succumbing to the Big 12 foe. Over the first 20 minutes, Central Arkansas outshot the Cowgirls 4-2, putting some pressure on the OSU defense early in the match.

Oklahoma State turned the tables in the 29th minute, however, putting in the first goal of the afternoon. The score really sparked the home team, and over the rest of the first half, Oklahoma State was able to put together several more scores in quick succession, jumping out to a 4-0 lead by the end of the first 45 minutes.

The Cowgirls continued to pressure Central Arkansas as the second half started, but as both teams cycled in players to get experience for younger players and rest for starters with the eve of conference play on the horizon, the attacks were a little easier to repel for the Bears. OSU added one final goal on a PK that was awarded after video review, and for the final 30 minutes, Central Arkansas was able to get out of its defensive third a bit more regularly, even pushing forward for attacks as the clock wound down. Despite not scoring a goal, the Bears were able to put a pair of shots on frame, giving the Oklahoma State keeper some work before the final whistle.

Central Arkansas has one more non-conference game before the start of UAC play, heading up to Cape Girardeau, Missouri to face SEMO next Sunday.
