CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team is back in action on Sunday, heading up to Jonesboro, Arkansas to face Arkansas State. Kickoff against the Red Wolves is set for 4 p.m.
The Bears (0-2) are looking to get back in the driver's seat on Sunday, having narrowly missed out on a result at Tulsa last weekend. Tied late in the match, the Bears gave up a last score in the final minutes to drop the road match against the Golden Hurricane.
Caroline Billings notched her first goal of the season in the game, while
Hanna Hargrave made four saves against a talented Tulsa offense.
Last time the Bears and Red Wolves faced off was in Conway back in 2023. The teams battled to a 2-2 draw, with all four goals being scored in the first 33 minutes.
Megan Moudy tallied one in the match, the second score for the Bears.
Emerson Kercher and Billings also logged time in that match.
Arkansas State (0-2) is also looking for its first result of the season, having dropped matches against Lipscomb and Little Rock already. The Red Wolves kept both contests close, losing both by one goal. Kennedy Horn scored late against Little Rock to get her team on the board, but in the 82
nd minute, it was too little, too late for Arkansas State.
The Red Wolves offense hasn't been struggling due to a lack of trying. Arkansas State has kept pace in terms of shots, with 27 shots through two matches, including 14 on frame. But the results have left a little bit to be desired, with only the one goal coming through so far.
Kickoff at Arkansas State is set for 4 p.m. The match will be steamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online.
