CONWAY, Ark. – The Atlantic Sun Conference has announced its Preseason All-ASUN Team, with the Central Arkansas men's soccer team claiming one spot on the league's first award list of the year, with senior forward Maxim Sheenkov being named to the list.
 
"I know Max will be excited to hear that he was selected to this list. He came back strong last year following a year off due to a knee injury, and he's looked really good in preseason," Head coach Kyle Segebart said of the forward. "He's going into his final year as an undergrad this fall, and he will be looking to build on the season he had last year. He'll be pivotal for us this year."
 
Sheenkov earned his spot after putting together a Second Team All-ASUN campaign last season. As the team's leading returner from last season, Sheenkov finished the year second on the team with four goals and two assists, tallying ten points. His four goals came in a stretch of four matches, creating the turning point for the Bears that allowed them to earn points in three-straight ASUN matches.
 
The senior led the ASUN in points during conference matches, logging three goals and two assists for eight points. His three scores led the league during ASUN matches, and his two assists were tied for third place.
 
Sheenkov and the Bears open their season on Thursday, traveling up to Drake for the season debut. Central Arkansas will make its first appearance at home on August 28^th against Belmont.
