CONWAY, Ark. – The ASUN Conference has announced its postseason honors, and six Bears were named to the conference's all-conference teams. Central Arkansas claimed three First Team selections, one Second Team, one Third Team, and one All-Freshman accolade.
"Our players have bought in from day one, and it's always great to see them get rewarded for their work. This conference is full of really talented players, so for us to get this type of recognition, it means a lot to us," Head coach
Kayla Lucas said. "This type of honor comes from a lot of hard work when nobody's watching, and I'm proud of the way our players represent us and what we're about. From our freshmen to our seniors, this team has fought for everything, and they're so deserving of these awards."
Multiple first teamers is nothing new to Central Arkansas; the Bears have had multiple spots in the top team in the ASUN every year since entering the league in 2022, and this season was no different.
Addie Graham notched her second First Team honor, adding more hardware to her collection after being named one of the top three outfielders in the ASUN. The outfielder is near the top of the Bears' roster and the ASUN in several offensive categories this season, hitting .382 (8th in the ASUN) with 65 hits (6th in the ASUN), 14 doubles (3rd in the ASUN), four triples (4th in the ASUN) and four home runs. She has 52 runs scored (2nd in the ASUN), 38 RBI, 29 walks, and 16 stolen bases. She set a program record earlier this season with a streak of 33 consecutive games reaching base. In ASUN games, she hit .367, with 29 hits (7th in the ASUN), eight doubles (2nd in the ASUN) and two home runs. She added 18 RBI, 13 walks and six stolen bases.
Trinity Brandon, playing her first season in Purple and Gray, made a name for herself as a dynamic third baseman. She was arguably the most well-rounded player for the Bears, putting up numbers on both sides of the ball, and hitting for both average and power. She batted .366 on the year, logging 63 hits with 15 doubles (2nd in the ASUN) and 10 home runs (14th in the ASUN). She drove in 47 runs (8th in the ASUN), drew 28 walks (11th in the ASUN), and stole six bases. She added 22 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games. She led the team and was second in the ASUN with 126 assists at third base, and was one of three ASUN players to log 100 or more assists and fewer than ten errors. In ASUN games, she batted .367 with 29 hits, three doubles and six home runs, with 27 RBI (6th in the ASUN).
And
Emma Robertson, the record-setting power hitter, earned the third spot on the First Team. She was a major part of the ASUN's second-best offense, providing a huge bat for Central Arkansas this season. She hit .347 overall, recording 50 hits, nine doubles, and 14 home runs. The 14 homers ranked seventh in the ASUN, and tied the UCA single season record. Robertson also drove in 64 runs (3rd in the ASUN), setting a new program record. She added 41 walks (2nd in the ASUN), posting a .497 on base percentage (4th in the ASUN) while holding a .701 slugging percentage (8th in the ASUN) for a 1.198 OPS (4th in the ASUN).
The Bears' lone second team spot is also a player familiar with earning these awards.
Kaitlyn Graham picked up her second league honor in as many seasons, after being named a Third Team All-ASUN player as a freshman. This year, she hit .342 on the season, with 51 hits, 18 doubles (1st in the ASUN), and three home runs, driving in 38 runs and drawing 36 walks (5th in the ASUN). Her 18 doubles tied the UCA single season record. She also helped the Bears turn 27 double plays, the only player to reach 20 double plays turned. She was involved in more double plays than all but one team in the ASUN, and helped Central Arkansas rank as the fourth-most double plays in the nation.
Bailie Runner earned another Third Team All-ASUN selection this season, matching last season's honor. This season, Runner has been the number one pitcher in the circle for Central Arkansas this year, posting a team-high 14 wins with a 3.41 ERA. She ranks fifth in the ASUN with her 14 wins, and she's second in the conference with 12 complete games. She tossed a no-hitter over Northern Iowa earlier this season, and has 57 strikeouts to her name.
The Bears also collected a spot on the All-Freshman Team, with
Emory Bowlin capturing the honor in her first collegiate season. Bowlin threw 81.2 innings in her first year in Purple and Gray, posting an 8-6 record with a 3.94 ERA and 29 strikeouts. She also had the lowest WHIP on the Bears, a 1.38 combined walks and hits allowed per inning. She was one of ten ASUN pitchers to log two solo shutouts on the year, and tossed a no-hitter. In ASUN games, she held a 4-3 record, including her no-hitter, and held a 4.35 ERA with a team-best 1.34 WHIP.
