CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas (30-25, 17-13) fell to Lipscomb University (26-24, 19-11) with a final score of 7–4 on Saturday at Bear Stadium. Central Arkansas hit three home runs in the game and made several great defensive plays but it was not enough to overcome Lipscomb's 13 hits and timely scoring.
Lipscomb University took an early lead in the first inning with Thomas doubling down the left field line, which allowed Miles to score an unearned run. The score was 1–0 in favor of Lipscomb through one inning.
In the second inning, Carter scored for Lipscomb on a sacrifice fly by Miles, extending its lead to 2–0.
Central Arkansas responded in the third inning when
Jagger Schattle homered to right field, cutting the deficit to 2–1.
Parker Gwyn tied the game in the fourth inning with a solo home run to left field, making the score 2–2.
The fifth inning saw both teams adding to their totals. Lipscomb struck first, scoring three runs, highlighted by Thomas's two-RBI double. Central Arkansas answered with a home run from
Keaton Laidley and a sacrifice fly by
Nate Negre, narrowing the gap to 5–4.
Lipscomb added two more runs in the seventh inning with Pruitt and Thomas driving in runs to make it 7–4.
Central Arkansas was unable to score in the final innings, as the game concluded with Lipscomb securing a 7–4 victory.
