CONWAY, Ark. - The Central Arkansas softball team hits the road for its final midweek of the season, facing an SEC team for the fifth time in 2026. The Bears will face LSU on Tuesday in Baton Rouge, with a 6 p.m. first pitch. 

The Bears (25-15) got an extra day's break this weekend with a rainout, but still claimed a two-game sweep over EKU at home on Friday. Central Arkansas won both halves of a doubleheader, both closely contested games. The games were basically opposite of each other, with Central Arkansas starting game one hot, then needing some late magic in game two. It marked the first series win over the Colonels since 2022.

As the season enters April, Renee Christian continues to be a force at the lead-off spot. Batting .396, the junior left fielder has been unstoppable leading off innings, and she's one of three Bears with 30 or more runs scored this season. It helps to have some of the hitters behind her, with Trinity Brandon (49 hits), Addie Graham (48 hits), and Emma Robertson (seven home runs) all backing up the speedy Christian. 

LSU (25-13) picked up a couple of wins at Mizzou over the weekend, winning the road SEC series 2-1. The Tigers won a pair of big games, taking 9-1 and 16-4 victories before dropping a 1-0 game three. The Tigers are hitting .264 as a team, with Sierra Daniel leading the way with a .358 average. The Tigers are a power swinging team, with 43 doubles, 16 triples and 37 home runs. Four Tigers have five or more home runs, four Tigers have multiple triples, and five Tigers have four or more doubles.

Central Arkansas claimed a win over LSU back in 2022, winning its first and only game against the Tigers in an early tournament in Baton Rouge.
