Central Arkansas (13-8) picked up a win on Wednesday, defeating Tulsa 3-2 after scoring a pair in the sixth to take the lead. The Bears are now winners of four of their last five games, and have played good softball in each of their tournaments this season, winning at least half of their games across the first four tournaments of the year. The win was the fourth of the year in which the Bears only scored three runs, and the 11
th win of the year allowing three or fewer runs.
Chattanooga (10-11-1) enters the weekend after falling in its midweek at Lipscomb, dropping the Wednesday matchup 5-4. Despite opening the scoring with a pair of solo home runs, the Mocs gave up five runs in the bottom of the second, and couldn't overcome the deficit late. Chattanooga has been led at the plate by Ava Cowart, who bats .377 this season on 69 at bats.
ULM heads to Conway with a 14-9 record, with a perfect 7-0 record at home. Last weekend, the Warhawks struggled offensively at the Ole Miss Classic, dropping all four games and getting outscored 21-4. The team rebounded slightly on Wednesday, run-ruling Grambling State 12-4 in five innings. The Warhawks have three players hitting .340 or better, led by Hollie Thomas's .351 average. ULM's team average is .301, while its pitching staff allows just a .262 average from opponents.
