CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas Beach Bears capped off the UCA Spring Break Invitational with a pair of wins on Saturday, defeating Mary Hardin-Baylor 4-1 and sweeping Southwest Baptist 5-0 on Senior Day at the Beach Bear Sand Courts.
Between matches, UCA honored its senior class of
Anna Jaworski,
Anna Linskey,
Callie Mullins,
Emmie Tidwell, and
Madelyn White, celebrating their impact and contributions to the program.
The Beach Bears opened the day with a 4-1 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor. The top pair of
Anna Linskey and
Natalie Blum set the tone with a 21-16, 21-15 win on Court 1.
Ella Layzell and
Brooke Sharp added a straight-set victory on Court 3 (21-15, 21-18), while
Ella Weilert and
Allison Heck dominated on Court 4, 21-10, 21-10.
Emmie Tidwell and
Callie Mullins secured the dual for UCA with a 21-12, 21-18 win on Court 5. Mary Hardin-Baylor claimed its lone point on Court 2 in a three-set battle. In the exhibition match,
Anna Jaworski and Isabella Irizarry added a 21-15, 21-8 win.
Following the Senior Day ceremony, the Beach Bears delivered a dominant performance in the final match of the weekend, sweeping Southwest Baptist 5-0.
Linskey and Blum once again led the way on Court 1 with a 21-14, 21-15 win, while Madelyn White and Chandler Lawerence earned a 21-19, 21-18 victory on Court 2. Layzell and Sharp continued their strong play with a 21-17, 21-13 win on Court 3.
Weilert and Heck controlled Court 4 in a 21-7, 21-15 victory, and Tidwell and Mullins capped off the sweep with a dominant 21-10, 21-6 win on Court 5.
The Beach Bears close the weekend with momentum, finishing strong on Senior Day while honoring a group that has helped shape the program's future.
