Bears Drop Game 2, Series Tied 1-1

RICHMOND, Ky. — Central Arkansas (11-8, 1-1) managed eight hits, including a home run, while the Colonels (6-13, 1-1) capitalized on 13 hits and seven runs in the fourth inning to secure the victory. This series is now tied 1-1 with the final game of this series taking place tomorrow.

Parker Gwyn started the game for the Bears with a single and subsequent stolen base. Nate Negre followed with a single that pushed Gwyn to third. Zeb Allen brought Gwyn home with an RBI single, giving Central Arkansas an early lead. However, Eastern Kentucky responded with Dylan Littlefield's two-run homer, followed by additional runs to take a 5-1 lead by the end of the first inning.

In the third inning, Allen homered to right center, narrowing the gap. Despite this, Eastern Kentucky maintained control, ending the inning with a 7–2 advantage.

The fourth inning saw Eastern Kentucky extend its lead. A series of singles and a triple from Pedro Moreno resulted in seven runs, creating a 14–2 lead by the inning's close.

Central Arkansas managed to hold Eastern Kentucky scoreless in the fifth inning, but the opponent added two more runs in the sixth through a combination of a wild pitch and a throwing error, pushing the score to 16–2.

In the seventh inning, the Bears capitalized on a passed ball, allowing Gwyn to score, but the deficit remained too much to overcome. The game concluded with Eastern Kentucky securing a 16–3 victory over Central Arkansas.
