Conway, Ark.- The University of Central Arkansas Bears (19-11, 14-3) will be in the Farris Center for one last home game on Saturday for an ASUN match-up with the Queens Royals (18-12, 13-4), tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. Prior to tip-off the Bears will honor their lone senior,
Camren Hunter, for Senior Day. This match-up is 2 vs 3 in the ASUN standings, the Bears are one game ahead of Queens in the ASUN standings. The Bears will earn at least the 2 seed for the ASUN tournament and could get the 1 seed with a win over the Royals and an Austin Peay loss at Bellarmine on Saturday. With a Bear win and AP lose the Bears and Governors will be Co-AUN Champions. The Bears and Royals have played five times since 2023, the royals have a 2-3 advantage in the series. These two teams played earlier this season in Charlotte with the Bears winning 100-90.
Camren Hunter scored 31 points,
Luke Moore and
Cole McCormick both had 19 points, while
Javion Guy-King had 13 and
Ty Robinson, who was in foul trouble early, scored 11.
Last time out, the Bears got a huge road win at Austin Peay who is currently at the top of the ASUN standings and was undefeated at home this season. The Bears got down by 17 in the first half and were down 10, 5 minutes into the second half.
Javion Guy-King had a career high 31 points.
Ty Robinson hit some big 3s late in the game, ending up with 23 points.
Camren Hunter had 20 points and
Luke Moore added 12 points. The Bears 19
th win is a new D1 era record for the most wins in a season and the most since the 2004-05 season (D2). As a team in ASUN games the Bears are scoring 84 points a game while shooting 47% from the field, 38% from 3-point range and 75% from the free throw line.
The Royals are currently on a four-game win streak, having won at home against Lipscomb and West Georgia and beating North Alabama and Eastern Kentucky on the road.
