OXFORD, Miss. – The Central Arkansas softball team started out great against the Ole Miss Rebels, scoring the first pair of runs right off the bat, but couldn't hold on, ultimately dropping a 10-2 final score to the SEC Rebels.
The Bears move to 9-7 on the season with the decision. Central Arkansas tallied four hits on the afternoon, two at the top of the lineup and two at the bottom, but the Bears couldn't string enough offense together to compete with the SEC opponent.
Addie Graham opened the game with a sharply hit single up the middle, establishing a quick base runner.
Trinity Brandon stepped up to the plate and demolished her at bat, crushing one to center field to plate two runs. The moonshot was Brandon's second homer of the season and ninth extra base hit of the year for the transfer third baseman.
Ole Miss answered with five in the bottom of the frame, jumping out on the Bears to take control of the game. After a scoreless second inning, the Rebels also scored runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to take the win over the Bears. The Bears had two hits over the final four innings, with

Central Arkansas remains on the road this weekend, heading over to Louisiana Tech to play in the Bulldogs' tournament in Ruston, Louisiana.
