STILLWATER, Okla. — Central Arkansas (5-4,0-0) fell to Oklahoma State (5-3,0-0) 14-3 on Tuesday at O'Brate Stadium. Central Arkansas scored first and had four hits, while Oklahoma State scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to secure the win.
Central Arkansas opened the scoring in the first inning with
Landon Carter driving in
Nate Negre, who doubled in his at bat, on a single to right field giving the visitors an early lead. However, Oklahoma State responded with a two-run homer by Kollin Ritchie, putting them ahead 2-1 after the first inning.
Oklahoma State added to its lead in the second inning with an RBI single by Brock Thompson, extending the advantage to 3-1 through two innings.
In the third inning, Oklahoma State's Danny Wallace singled through the left side, bringing home Campbell Smithwick to increase the lead to 4-1.
The fourth inning saw Central Arkansas score an unearned run when
Jack Runsick reached on an error and later scored on
Jagger Schattle's sacrifice fly. However, Oklahoma State responded with a ten-run inning.
Central Arkansas added a run in the fifth when Carter scored on Runsick's double to right center. The scoring ended there as neither team added more runs in the final innings. The game concluded with Oklahoma State securing the victory, 14-3.
Jacob Pannell pitched 2 innings as the starter, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits, including a home run, and recorded 2 strikeouts while issuing 3 walks.
Tobin Cantrill delivered a standout performance in relief, pitching 2 scoreless innings without allowing a hit and striking out 2 batters while issuing just 1 walk.
