Conway, Ark.- The Central Arkansas Bears competed in the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational at the Lawrence Country Club on October 5
th and 6
th. The stroke play event took place Monday and Tuesday playing 36 holes on the first day and 18 holes on day two. Fourteen teams and seventy-one golfers played in the event.

After Round 1 the Bears were in 9
th place. The Bears moved up 1 place in the standing in Round 2, and moved up 1 more place in Round 3 to finish the event in 7
th place. Host Kansas won the event shooting +6. For the event the Bears made 147 pars and 22 birdies. The Bears 3.2 scoring average on par 3s was 3rd overall, the 4.42 scoring average on par 4s was T9th and the 5.22 scoring average on par 5s was 5th.
