CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas volleyball team is headed to Alabama for a matchup against North Alabama on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Sugar Bears (2-11, 2-1) come into the match riding a two-match win streak after defeating Austin Peay and West Georgia. Against West Georgia, Central Arkansas continued on the momentum built during the Austin Peay match on Saturday.
Kennady Martindale matched her career high for kills with a total of 16, hitting .262 against the Wolves.
McKinzee Haas also matched her career high in kills with 13 on 21 swings, hitting .524 in the match.
Ella Chaney recorded her third double-double of the season with 14 kills and a career high 17 digs.
North Alabama comes into the match with a 12-4 overall record and 2-1 in conference play. The Lions have been tough to beat at home so far this season, with a 5-0 record on their home court. Like the Sugar Bears, North Alabama is coming off a win over West Georgia after sweeping the Wolves on Tuesday evening.
Ava Martindale has won two UAC Defensive Player of the Week awards so far this season for the Lions, and she leads the team with 253 digs, averaging 4.87 per set. Similarly, Kinslee McGowan has earned two Setter of the Week honors this year, marking six in her career. McGowan leads the team and the conference with 509 assists averaging 10.18 per set. Reese Ricketts ranks first on the team in kills with 177 on the season with an average of 3.47 per set.
