Bears Beat Royals on the Road

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Central Ark. (11-10, 6-2 ASUN) defeated Queens (NC) (12-10, 7-2 ASUN) 100-90 on Wednesday night at Curry Arena. Central Ark. outscored Queens by 15 points in the second half. This victory marked the Bears' fourth consecutive win, including two impressive road victories in row. The Bears had five players in double figures; Camren Hunter with 31, Luke Moore 19, Cole McCormick 19, Javion Guy-King 13 and Ty Robinson with 11 points.

Central Arkansas and Queens (NC) exchanged leads frequently in a tightly contested first half, which concluded with Queens holding a narrow 45-40 advantage. Central Arkansas started the scoring with a three-pointer by Javion Guy-King at the 18:46 mark. Queens responded quickly as Carson Schwieger and Chris Ashby each connected on 3-pointers, contributing to Queens' ten 3-pointers in the half. Camren Hunter led Central Arkansas with a late three-pointer at 2:27, part of his season-high 31-point performance.

Central Arkansas surged ahead in the second half, outscoring the Royals 60-45 to secure a decisive victory. Ty Robinson sparked the offense early with a fast-break three-pointer, narrowing the gap to 45-43 at the 19:08 mark, showcasing his perfect 3-3 shooting from beyond the arc despite fouling out in just 18 minutes. Hunter's consistent scoring, including a key three-pointer at 10:03, tied the game at 67-67, shifting the momentum in favor of the Bears. Luke Moore was instrumental in maintaining the lead, contributing crucial free throws and a layup down the stretch, as he tied his season-high with 19 points. The Bears sealed the win with a final score of 100-90 from the free throw line out scoring the Royals by 15 points from the free-throw line, converting 28 of 34 attempts.
