Preview: Bears at 1st Place Queens

Conway, Ark.- The University of Central Arkansas Bears (10-10, 5-2) are on the road to Charlotte, N.C. for an ASUN match-up at the Queens University Royals (12-9, 7-1) on Wednesday, tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. CT. The ASUN schedule is still in the first half of games, but Queens is currently in a tie for first place with Austin Peay and Lipscomb, the Bears are right behind them all alone in 4th place. For the series with Queens, the Bears have lost three in row, with the all-time series at 3-1. Three of the four match-ups have taken place in Charlotte.

The Bears are coming off their first road win of the season, a dominant 21-point blowout of West Georgia. Five Bears scored in double digits while the team shoot 58% from the field and 50% from 3-point range. Ty Robinson scored 22 points, going 4-5 from 3-point range and Cole McCormick had 15 points shooting 6-7. The Bears turned the Wolves over 22 times and scored 27 points off those turnovers. The win was the Bears third in a row, the last time the Bears won three in a row in Conference was the 2018-19 season. This was also the Bears 10th win of the season, clinching at least 10 wins in a season for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
 
The Royals are coming off their first loss of the ASUN season, losing at West Georgia 66-74. The first half was a struggle for the Royals, shooting 36% from the field, 28% from behind the 3-point line and 60% from the free throw line. In all ASUN games, the Royals are shooting 48% from the field, 34% on 3s and 75% from the free throw line, with six Royals averaging double digits in scoring. They are led by Jordan Watford who is scoring 15.3 points per game in ASUN games. While Parker Avantae is averaging 13.1 points per game and grabbing 7 rebounds per ASUN game.
