Preview: Bears at Home to Take on Dolphins

Conway, Ark.- The University of Central Arkansas Bears (7-10, 2-2) return to the Farris Center to take on the Jacksonville University Dolphins (6-11, 1-3) on Thursday night, tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. The Bears have never beaten the Dolphins in six tries. Their most recent match-up was in Conway last year, the Dolphins won 77-62. The first match up was back in January of 2022 in Florida, the Dolphins won that one 59-79.

The Bears are coming off a challenging road trip to Kentucky, where they played two games last week, first at Bellarmine and then at EKU. The Bears lost both games in Overtime. At Bellarmine Javion Guy-King hit a jumper at the end of regulation to send it to OT and at EKU Camren Hunter hit a jumper at the end of regulation to send it to OT. In both games the Bears got an early lead in OT but were not able to hang on. So far in ASUN play, Camren Hunter is averaging 20.8 points per game and Ty Robinson is averaging 20 points per game. As a team the Bears are scoring 82.75 points per game while shooting 45% from the field, 35% from 3-point range and 78% from the free throw line in ASUN games.
 
The Dolphins are coming off their first win of the ASUN schedule with a big win over the University of West Georgia who was previously unbeaten in ASUN games. During their 0-3 start in ASUN competition, the Dolphins were outscored 176-224. Jaylen Jones (11.3) and Donovan Rivers (10.5) are both scoring in double digits for the Dolphins in ASUN match-ups. As a team the Dolphins are scoring 62.75 points per game while shooting 45% from the field, 37% from 3-point range and 60% from the free throw line in ASUN games.

Tip-off for our "Purple Out" game is set for 6:30 p.m. in the Farris Center in Conway, Ark. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, The Bear 91.3 and Jack 92.7 or you can follow live stats online.
