Women's Soccer Faces Bellarmine on Sunday

CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team stays on the road for a Sunday showdown with the Bellarmine Knights. Kickoff in Louisville is set for 12 p.m. CT.

The Bears (3-6, 0-2 ASUN) are looking to get that last touch going, having dropped a couple of matches recently to 1-0 final scores. On Friday, the Bears face EKU, and despite putting up 28 shots, goals continue to elude Central Arkansas, putting pressure on what has been a very solid defensive effort this season.

Perhaps Central Arkansas will be able to buck the trend against a Bellarmine team that hasn't historically given the Bears problems. In the four matches played since joining the ASUN, Central Arkansas has never lost to Bellarmine, going 3-0-1 with back-to-back wins in the series. Last year, it was a 4-2 win Caroline Billings logged a hat trick in front of Bear Nation, scoring three goals against the Knights.

But Bellarmine (8-1-2, 2-1 ASUN) has proven to be a better team than in recent memory. Eight wins are already more than any season since 2019, as are the five road wins. It's been both sides for the Knights, who have scored 24 goals while only allowing seven. Five Knights have scored multiple goals, including six goals from McKenzie Carle and five from Lucy von Stefenelli.

Kickoff against the Knights is set for 12 p.m. CT in Louisville. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online.
