Women's Soccer Ready for Battle with Missouri State

CONWAY, Ark. – Central Arkansas women's soccer is back on its home field on Thursday night, taking on Missouri State at the Bill Stephens Track and Soccer Complex at 6 p.m.

The Bears (3-3) have to be feeling good after the last one, having dominated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 7-0 last week. Six Bears scored goals, including a brace from Trace Pavatt, and Central Arkansas outshot the Golden Lions 45-0 across the 90 minutes. Central Arkansas controlled the match from the onset, limiting the Golden Lions to their defensive half all night.

Pavatt's two goals pushes the junior to a team-best four goals this season, one of two Bears with multiple goals this year, along with Caroline Billings' three. Nine Bears have logged a goal, and with six other players logging at least one assist, 15 players have contributed either a goal or an assist this season.

Missouri State (2-5-1) enters the week on a three-game slide, having lost consecutive matches to Mizzou, Saint Louis and No. 11 Iowa. The tough schedule also includes two more Power Four matches, with the Bears starting the season at Kansas and at Nebraska.

The Bears have relied on the production from multiple players, and have gotten results from Abby Hansen and Reilly Heman. The pair has a combined five goals and five assists, and is responsible for 15 of the team's 31 total points this year.

Central Arkansas and Missouri State have played each of the last three years, with the Springfield Bears claiming the last two meetings.

Kickoff against the Bears is set for 6 p.m. at the Bill Stephens Track and Soccer Complex. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online.
