CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears are set for a three-match road swing in Chicago, Ill., as they continue nonconference play. UCA opens against Chicago State on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 12 p.m., followed by a same-day matchup with UIC at 6 p.m. The trip concludes on Friday, Sept. 13 at 12 p.m. against DePaul.

The Sugar Bears enter the weekend looking to build consistency and momentum ahead of ASUN play. With two matches in one day, depth and energy will be key factors as UCA takes on three competitive Midwest programs.

Leaders on the Court

Through the early part of the 2025 season, Central Arkansas has leaned on several standouts:

• Kills: Laci Bohannan leads the attack with 48 kills, followed by Samantha Cousins (32), McKinzee Haas (31), and Gabby Tuiaana (28).

• Assists: Setter Caylan Koons has paced the offense with 126 assists, supported by Sophie Skinner (22).

• Service Aces: Bohannan, Brinley Burdette, and Alexis McDaniel share the team lead with six aces each.

• Digs: Defensive anchor McDaniel has already tallied 92 digs, nearly triple the next closest teammate.

• Blocks: Greyson Button and Haas form a strong front-line duo with 17 blocks apiece.

What's at Stake

UCA has shown flashes of balance between offense and defense, highlighted by Bohannan's all-around play and McDaniel's reliability in the back row. The Chicago swing provides a chance to sharpen execution, test lineup versatility, and gain momentum away from Conway.
