CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team is back in action at home on Sunday, taking on UL Monroe at a rescheduled 11 a.m. at the Bill Stephens Track and Soccer Complex.
The Bears (0-1) couldn't complete the comeback against Tulsa on Thursday, with some good chances late not finding the net.
Caroline Billings scored the lone goal for Central Arkansas in the 2-1 loss. The Bears saw four new players make their debut in Purple and Gray, including two starters,
Anna Kathryn Harrell and
Sakiko Manabe.
Central Arkansas will look to right the ship against a familiar foe; the Bears and Warhawks have faced off 16 times, including a 3-2 win for the Bears last year. Central Arkansas has won seven of the last eight, including five-straight at home.
ULM heads to Conway after a dominant 4-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday. The Warhawks had four different goal scorers, and held the Lions to just a single shot all night.
Louisiana Monroe starts the year after a 9-8-3 slate last season, opening the season with five-straight wins before slowing down to a 3-8-3 finish, including a 3-5-2 showing in the Sun Belt. The Warhawks then ended their season in penalties in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament against James Madison.
Kickoff against the Warhawks is set for 11 a.m. on Sunday. The match will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available online. As always, attendance is free to all fans.
