HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Central Arkansas women's golf team closed the ASUN Championship with a sixth-place finish after Tuesday's final round. The Bears had two top-15 finishers in
Valeria Ramirez and
Emma Leroy Fabry.
Ramirez closed her championship with a 78, adding a birdie on three to finish off an 11
th place finish. She rounded out a three-round score of 227. Fabry finished one stroke behind her teammate after shooting an identical 78 on Tuesday. The freshman ended her first ASUN Championship with nine birdies, the seventh-most in the tournament.
Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir ended with a top-25 spot after her final 18 holes. She scored a birdie on 17 to close out an 80 for round three.
Tiana Eldem tallied an 84 to wrap up her tournament run, sinking a birdie on 17.
Camila Negroni also had a birdie on 17, one of two birdies on the round as she capped her 54 holes with an 88 on Tuesday.
FGCU won a tiebreaker to claim the team championship over Stetson. Austin Peay rounded out the top-three finishing teams. FGCU's Lousiane Gauthier took home the individual title, followed by Stetson's Filippa Janson in second and Lipscomb's Casey Yu in third place.
