HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Central Arkansas women's golf team opened its 2025 ASUN Championship on Sunday, playing the first round out at Hampton Cove Golf Course. The Bears finished the day tied for ninth.
Emma Leroy Fabry and
Valeria Ramirez are tied just outside of the top-25 after the first day of the tournament. Sitting at 5-over 77, Fabry tallied four birdies on the day, a number that ranks seventh in the tournament. Ramirez, for her part, played a consistent round, sinking 13 pars, which ranks third among all golfers.
Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir finished the day one stroke behind her teammates. She tied Ramirez with 13 pars on her first 18 holes.
Tiana Eldem played her way to an 80 on Sunday, and
Camila Negroni sits four strokes behind Eldem.
Stetson is currently atop the standings, finishing the day one stroke over par. Lipscomb is in second, and Eastern Kentucky rounds out the top-three. Individually, Stetson's Filippa Jansson leads the pack at three strokes under par. Lipscomb's Lauren Thompson is in second place, and there is a four-way tie for third place.
