MONROE, La. – The Central Arkansas women's golf team put together a solid day at the course to start the ULM Invitational, playing two rounds on Monday. After a slow start, the Bears rebounded in round two, playing the second-best round among the ten teams to move up into fifth place.
 
Valeria Ramirez started the day with an even 72, pacing the Bears with four birdies to start the day. She would go on to finish the day inside the top-20, rounding out a 3-over 147. Camila Negroni and Emma Leroy Fabry are tied in the top-30, after a 1-under 71 for Negroni in round two. She tallied four birdies in her second round to make a jump up the leaderboards, and Fabry joins her teammate at a 5-over 149 after 36 holes.
 
Tiana Eldem had the best round of her Central Arkansas career in round two, scoring four birdies and an eagle across a seven-hole stretch to turn in a 4-under 28. The senior heads into Tuesday's third round having scored the lowest round for the Bears in Monroe after being one of five players in the field to score an eagle. Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir finished the day just a few strokes back of Eldem after turning in a pair of birdies across 36 holes. Ayami Takahashi turned in a two-round score of 166 after playing 36 holes as an individual.
 
Southern Miss is 11 strokes under par, and leads the pack by eight strokes. ULM is in second after two rounds, followed closely by UT Arlington. ULM's Daniela Campillo holds the individual top spot after back-to-back rounds of 67. Southern Miss's Taylor Trible is in second, and there is a two-way tie for third.
