Preview: Football Bears are back on the Road

Conway, Ark.- The University of Central Arkansas Bears (3-6, 2-3) hit the road this Saturday, November 8, for a United Athletic Conference showdown against the Austin Peay Governors (5-4, 3-3). Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Fortera Stadium in Clarksville, Tennessee, where both teams enter seeking momentum as the regular season winds down.

While the Bears are looking to finish the season strong, the Governors remain in the hunt for a winning record and improved positioning in the UAC standings. Austin Peay has held its own at home this season, and Fortera Stadium has been a difficult place for visiting teams.

For the Bears, Landen Chambers has been the model of consistency rushing for over 100 yards in seven out of nine games this season, including the last six in a row. Chambers also has seven touchdowns on the season. Quarterback Austin Myers has thrown for nine touchdowns with 1,160 yards passing on 88 completions. Tyrell Pollard, Ty Durham and Arlie Lee have all had great production at the receiver position, Malachi Henry leads the receivers with six touchdowns on 50 receptions and 599 yards receiving. Defensive back Dillon Williams leads the team in total tackles with 51 with Line Backer Ashtyn Williams right behind him with 48 total tackles, both players has an interception on the season. Several Bears defensive players have been disruptive in the opponents backfield; Gary Lewis has 6.5 tackles for a loss and 3 sacks, Travion Traylor has 6.5 TFLs and a sack, Jakobe Shell has 5.5 TFLs and a sack, Carmilo Allen has 3 TFLs and 2 sacks while Jacoby McQuiller has 6 TFLs.

For the Governors, Quarterback Chris Parson leads the way with 16 passing touchdowns, 2,144 yards passing on 150 completions and just three interceptions. Parson has also been the teams leading rusher gaining 423 yards on the ground and scoring ten touchdowns. Also in the backfield, Javious Bond has rushed for 311 yards and four touchdowns. Like the Bears, the Governors have several receivers having productive seasons, Jaden Robinson leads the way with 35 catches, 483 yards and six touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Montreze Smith Jr. has been a force for the defensive unit making 60 total tackles, 5 TFLs, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions on the season.

With kickoff at 3 p.m. in Clarksville, Saturday's match-up offers a blend of urgency and opportunity. Austin Peay aims to defend its home field and stay in the upper half of the UAC, while Central Arkansas looks to spoil those plans and build late-season momentum.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, The Bear 91.3, and The Point 94.1, or you can follow live stats online.
