Conway, Ark.- The University of Central Arkansas Bears (3-7, 2-4) will play one more road game this season. This time the Bears will travel West to take on the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds (5-5, 4-2). Kickoff in Cedar City, UT is set for 7:30 p.m. CT in Eccles Coliseum. The Bears and Thunderbirds have met twice before, with the road teams getting the win. In 2023, in Utah the Bears had a 20-7 lead at halftime. After the break and lightning delay, SUU made a strong comeback but the Bears held on 29-27. Last year in Conway, the Bears held the lead until late in the second quarter, SUU tied it up just before halftime, took the lead in the third quarter and then walked away with a 38-31 win.
The Bears are coming off three tough losses, with two of those losses by a combined 4 points. Running back
Landen Chambers leads the way for the Bears offense with 1,136 total yards this season, averaging 5.4 yards per carry and scoring 8 touchdowns. Chambers has run for over 100 yards in seven straight games and eight this season.
Austin Myers has made five starts at quarterback throwing for 1,373 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Malachi Henry is the top receiver for the Bears making 59 catches for 706 yards while scoring 7 touchdowns.
Tyrell Pollard has 6 touchdown catches and 443 yards receiving. Place Kicker
Caleb Jones is still perfect on the season going 10 for 10 on field goal tries with a long of 39 yards. On the other side of the ball;

The Thunderbirds have won four straight games, two of them on the road and two at home. SUU has played two quarterbacks all season long. But QB Bronson Barron has been the main signal caller throwing for 2,000 yards on 159 completions and 11 touchdowns. Barron has two main targets in the passing game, Gabe Nunez has 53 catches for 631 yards and Shane Carr has 624 yards on 40 catches this season. But the main offensive weapon for SUU is running back Joshua Dye. Dye is #2 in the country for FCS with 1,542 yards rushing, averaging 6.6 yards per carry and has scored 22 touchdowns (ranked #1 in scoring). The Thunderbird defense is led by linebacker Sebastian Adamski who has 99 total tackles on the season, 7 of which are for a loss.
