COMMERCE, Texas – The Sugar Bears struggled in their match against the Trojans on Saturday, falling in straight sets with scores of 20-25, 23-25, and 23-25. Despite strong efforts, the Sugar Bears couldn't overcome the Trojans' offense and late pushes.
Sophie Skinner had her best game in Purple and Gray, posting a season-best 14 assists. Gabby Tuiaana added a personal-best and team-high 14 kills.
Set 1:
The opening set saw the Trojans start off strong, taking an early lead at 14-9, and despite a late rally by the Sugar Bears, the Trojans were able to close the set 25-23.
Set 2:
In the second set, the Trojans capitalized on a series of errors by the Sugar Bears to jump out to a quick lead. Despite another late push by the Sugar Bears, the set ended in favor of the Trojans, 25-23.
Set 3:
The final set was a hard-fought battle, with both teams exchanging points. However, the Trojans pulled away in the final moments to take the set and match 25-23. During this set, the Sugar Bears and Trojans had a tied score 7 times to keep this set close.

The Sugar Bears will look to bounce back in their next match against GCU on September 6th at the Ram Volleyball Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado. The team is focused on improving and is determined to come back stronger.
