MACON, Ga. – The Central Arkansas women's golf team played two rounds of the Brickyard Collegiate on Monday, placing in the top four as a team after 36 holes. The Bears have three players in the top-20 headed into Tuesday's final round.
 
Valeria Ramirez and Pim-orn Thitisup are tied for 12^th after two rounds, each shooting a 6-over 150. Ramirez tallied seven birdies across 36 holes, including five in just the second round. The sophomore rebounded from a tough round one to score an even 72 for her second 18 holes. Thitisup was pretty level all day, tallying one birdie but keeping everything within a stroke of par. The duo is just three strokes back of the top-three entering Tuesday's third round.
 
Madison Holmes also claimed a top-20 position after 36 holes, posting a 9-over 153. The senior has two birdies on her scorecard, both coming in the second round. Ayami Takahashi penciled in four birdies en route to a two-round score of 156. Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir capped her first day at a 156 as well, adding five birdies to her tally.
 
Central Arkansas proved to be the best team on par fives through 36 holes, playing the long ones to the tune of 4.9 strokes per hole, a field-best 4-under across all golfers. In fact, four of the five Bears were at or under par on par fives, led by Ramirez's 3-under.
 
Mercer leads the team scoring, sitting at a 16-over 592 following two rounds. UAB is two strokes back of the leader, and Southern Miss is in third place, just a couple strokes ahead of the Bears. UAB holes the top two spots, with Grace Sinclair at the top spot and Emilia Smith three strokes behind her teammate. Six players are tied for third place, a stroke behind Smith.
