GULF SHORES, Ala. –The Central Arkansas women's golf team closed the Bama Beach Bash on Tuesday, finishing in fifth place. The Bears were led by freshman
Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir, who finished in a tie for eighth place.
Thorsteinsdottir capped her second top-10 finish with a two-round score of 147 after Tuesday's 77. She would finish the Bash with four birdies across 36 holes.
Valeria Ramirez capped her Bama Beach Bash in the top-20, playing her way to a 3-over 75 in round two. She added a birdie on 11, bringing her two-round total to five.
Pim-orn Thitisup shot a 2-over 74 on Tuesday, rounding out a final score of 152. Her three birdies were tied for team-high in round two, and brought her total to four.
Ayami Takahashi also had three birdies in round two, finishing off a 77 to bring her to a total score of 156.
Madison Holmes tallied an 82, totaling a 162 after two rounds.
Sam Houston maintained its first-place status, finishing off a 9-over 585. Oral Roberts moved up into second, and UNC Asheville and Austin Peay tied for third. Oral Roberts' Avery Blake moved up into first place, with a two-way tie for second by Jacksonville's Casey Powell and ORU's Kate Strickland.
