ORLANDO, Fla. – The Central Arkansas women's golf team wrapped up the UCF Challenge on Monday, completing the originally scheduled event a day early. The Bears had their best day on the course Monday, turning in a team score of 298 for a three-round score of 910.
Madison Holmes added three more birdies to her tally, finishing her third and final round with a 74 for a total score of 223.
Valeria Ramirez had three birdies on the back nine, ending with her best round of golf with a 2-over 74.
Ayami Takahashi also shot a 74 after putting together two birdies and 14 holes at par. The junior had just five holes of the front nine across the three rounds that weren't par or better.
Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir kept everything within a stroke of par, rounding out a 4-over 76.
Camila Moreno shot a 79 on Monday's final round, adding a pair of birdies to her scorecard.
North Carolina did enough to hang on for the win, finishing five strokes above Kansas, who rose to number two. The Jayhawks' rise dropped Miami to third place, finishing 11 strokes under par as a team. Texas Tech's Lauren Zaretzky won the individual medal, with UCF's Molly Smith finishing second, and Kansas' Lily Hirst ending in third.
Central Arkansas takes a month to regroup before playing again, heading down to New Orleans to play in the Tulane Classic in mid-March. For complete standings and stats, head over to the
