ATLANTA, Ga. _ The University of Central Arkansas will return to the road Saturday to face their third Power 4 opponent in their first seven games when they take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at McCamish Pavilion.
The Bears (2-4) and Yellow Jackets (3-3) will tip-off at noon (CST) on Bobby Cremins Court.
UCA won its last outing on Sunday, beating UNC Asheville 92-83 in double overtime at the Farris Center, the first double overtime for the Bears since 2018 when UCA beat Lamar 100-91.
The Yellow Jackets, who are coached by former All-American and NBA player Damon Stoudamire, blew past Charleston Southern 91-67 at home, shooting 55.3 percent from the field in the opening half and 52.8 percent for the game. The 91 points were the second-most the Yellow Jackets have scored this season, trailing only the 93 they had in a 105-93 loss to North Florida on Nov. 10. UNF is a fellow Atlantic Sun Conference team with UCA.
Georgia Tech has four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by 6-foot-9 sophomore Baye Ndongo (14.2) and 6-3 senior guard Lance Terry (13.0). The Yellow Jackets are shooting 43.6 percent from the field on the season, and 30.8 percent from three-point range. The perimeter shooting is spread around, with four players with at least nine three-pointers made.
Ndongo is also Georgia Tech's top rebounder, averaging 7.7 per outing.Â
The Yellow Jackets, who compete in the ACC, have wins over West Georgia (ASUN), Texas Southern and Charleston Southern, with losses to UNF, Georgia and Cincinnati.
Saturday's game is the first of four consecutive road games for the Bears, UCA will play at Little Rock on Dec. 4, at UAPB on Dec. 7 and take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Dec. 14 at Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock.
