MACOMB, Ill. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears will take a bit of momentum with them when they head back on the road on Saturday to take on the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

UCA and WIU will play at 1 p.m. at LeRoy A. Ufkes Court at Western Hall. The game will be carried live on ESPN+, with no radio broadcast.

The Bears cruised past Randall University 108-49 on Wednesday night in their home opener at the Farris Center. UCA made a season-high 16 three-pointers, by a combination of eight different players, and topped 50 points in both halves against the Saints.

UCA had four players in double figures, led by senior Elias Cato with 19 points. Freshman guard Layne Taylor added 18 points, hitting five three-pointers, while freshman Cole McCormick added 16 points and redshirt freshman Ben Fox had 14. Sophomore transfer Brayden Fagbemi had 7 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the Bears, who led 56-22 at halftime in front of a crowd of 1,586.

Western Illinois, who leads the series with UCA 3-0 after last year's 65-54 win in Conway, is 1-2 on the season. The Leathernecks dropped their home opener 87-73 to Green Bay on Wednesday night, hitting 10 of 21 from three-point range but only 7 of 18 from the free-throw line.

The Leathernecks split a pair of games on a West Coast swing to open the season, beating San Jose State 59-55 and losing to Pepperdine 77-64.

UCA lost twice to Power 4 opponents last week, at BYU and at Utah. The Bears return home next week, hosting a multi-team event (MTE) featuring Southeast Missouri on Thursday and UNC Asheville on Sunday. SEMO and UNCA will play each other on Friday.
