CONWAY, Ark. _ For the first time in two weeks, the University of Central Arkansas Bears will be back at the Farris Center on Saturday afternoon when they host the Kennesaw State Owls at 3 p.m. on Scottie Pippen Court.

The Bears, who played three consecutive road games, will now be at home for three straight, starting with the defending Atlantic Sun Conference champion Owls on Saturday.

KSU is 13-7overall and 4-2 in league play after a surprising home loss to North Alabama on Wednesday night in Kennesaw, Ga. Prior to that, the Owls beat Jacksonville and lost to North Florida, both one the road. KSU is 8-1 at home at the Convocation Center and 3-6 on the road this season.

The Owls and Lions combined to shoot 74 free throws on Wednesday night in a game that had 53 fouls called. KSU was 28 of 39 (71.8 percent) and UNA was even better at 28 of 35 (80 percent).

The Owls have four players averaging in double figures scoring, led by sophomore guard Simeon Cottle at16.9 points. Terrell Burden, last year's ASUN Tournament Most Valuable player, averages 15.2 and had a career-high 37 points against UNA, hitting 10 of 20 from the field and 16 of 21 at the free-throw line.

KSU, which lost to Xavier in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last March, swept the two games against UCA last year, and also won the first-ever meeting in 2022. The Owls' defense held the Bears to shooting percentages of 35.4 percent in the first game and 34.4 percent in the rematch.

UCA, which opened its three-game road swing with a win at Lipscomb on Jan. 18, dropped the next two at Austin Peay last Saturday and at Queens on Wednesday. The Bears will continue their homestand with two games next week against Florida Gulf Coast on Thursday and Stetson on Saturday, both doubleheaders with the Sugar Bears.
