CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ The last, and only, time the University of Central Arkansas Bears faced the Queens Royals, it took a rash of three-pointers and a late defensive stop in the final seconds for the Bears to secure a 92-91 road victory at Curry Arena.

The teams will meet again at 6 p.m. (CST) Wednesday, and again on Queens' home floor. The game will be carried live on ESPN+ and 92.7Jack FM.

The Bears enter the game with a 7-14 overall record but a 3-2 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference play, good for a four-way tie for fourth in the league standings. Queens, which has lost three consecutive games after a win over Florida Gulf Coast, is 7-13 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The Royals are 6-2 at home on the season and 0-11 on the road.

The Bears have won  four of their last six but are coming off a loss at Austin Peay last Saturday.

In last season's first ever meeting between the Bears and Royals, the teams combined for 27 three-pointers, with UCA going 15 of 31 (48.4 percent) and Queens hitting 12 of 36 (33.3 percent). UCA will not have its leading scorer from a year ago in junior guard Camren Hunter, who had a career-high 33 points last year but has missed the entire season with a foot injury. Queens' A.J. McKee, who scored 22 points, does return and is averaging 16.6 points per game this season, trailing only junior college transfer Deyton Albury at 17.3.

The Royals average more points (78.6) and allow more points (82.7) than the Bears (72.5/77.2) against a non-conference schedule that included Top 20 teams Clemson and Duke. Their ASUN losses have been to defending champion Kennesaw State, Stetson, Jacksonville and North Florida.

UCA will face those same teams over the next three weeks, hosting Kennesaw on Saturday, Florida Gulf Coast next Thursday, Stetson next Saturday and then Jacksonville and North Florida on the road on Feb. 8 and 10.
