PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Wrapping up the Golfweek Fall Challenge, the Central Arkansas women's golf team capped off the event matching its best round of the tournament from yesterday. Scoring an 8-over 292, the team settled into eighth place in head coach Summar Roachell's first event at Central Arkansas.
"It was really exciting to lead the team for the first time this week. It was great to see our team go out and compete, I think we learned more about who we are as a team and how we can continue to grow into the season," Roachell said. "I am very proud of Valeria [Ramirez] for posting a top-10 finish to start the season. She gained confidence from her finish in round one and carried that through the last two rounds."
Indeed she did, as Ramirez played her best round of golf on Tuesday, moving up to seventh place after a 1-under 70 third round. The sophomore added five birdies in the final 18 holes, bringing her three-day total to 12. Ramirez's finish was also her first top-10 finish as a Bear, clearing last season's best finish of 19
