RICHMOND, Ky. – The University of Central Arkansas tennis program went up to Kentucky and got their second ASUN victory of the season against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels.
The Bears got back into conference play with a trip to the Bluegrass State and also got back into their winning ways. UCA started things off with a clutch win in doubles play, with Jaeun Lee and Nicole Ross winning 6-2 early, and Nanoka Kazama and Vichitraporn Vimuktananda winning 6-4 to seal the point to the Bears.
In singles play was highlighted by a dramatic three set victory by Lee in the No. 1 spot. Lee rallied to take the tiebreaking set 13-11. UCA capped off a victory with Vimuktananda taking a tiebreaking set as well. Vimuktananda has really settled into the No. 2 spot nicely in her freshman season. Sophomore Nicole Ross made quick work of her opponent and was the first one to finish in Thursday's action.
