LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Central Arkansas tennis program won a much-needed ASUN match against the Bellarmine Knights on the road on Sunday afternoon.
Sure, it was not exactly pretty, but it was certainly clutch, and absolutely one that the Bears needed. After slipping to 1-3 in conference play in Florida two weeks ago, the Bears rebounded nicely with a sweep in the Bluegrass State.
Jaeun Lee and Nicole Ross secured a doubles win, but it was not enough, as UCA fell behind 1-0 after doubles and would have to battle back from there.
UCA's No. 1 and No. 2 singles players in Lee and Vichitraporn Vimuktananda would each lose early on from there to extend the deficit to 3-0. UCA would then rattle off four singles victories capped off by Nicole Ross's victory to seal the win. UCA now moves to 2-0 against Bellarmine all-time.
