CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears dropped the final game of their weekend series with UT Martin 5-3 on Sunday at Bear Stadium but still won the series 2-1.
UCA (7-8) was held to just six hits after piling up a combined 29 in the first two games of the series. The Skyhawks (5-12) had 11 hits and overcame three errors to salvage the final game. UT Martin starter Seth Petry limited the Bears to three hits and one unearned run over six innings, striking out six and walking three.
The Skyhawks got three hits from Hunter McLean and two each from Caleb Hobson and Blake Bell against five UCA pitchers.

A.J. Mendolia, who had reached on an error.
The Skyhawks took the lead for good in the third, scoring twice on two hits and a wild pitch. They added two more in the sixth with a pair of hits and a catcher's interference on UCA. The Bears chipped away with a run in the eighth
Dylan Cyr's RBI single to right field. In the ninth, sophomore shortstop
Reid Bowman hit his first career home run, a solo shot that brought the Bears within 5-3.
Senior right fielder
Kolby Johnson was the only UCA player with multiple hits, going 2 for 5. Mendolia extended his on-base streak to 15 games with a walk.
UCA travels to Jonesboro on Tuesday for an in-state matchup with Arkansas State at 6 p.m. The Bears open ASUN Conference play next weekend at home against North Alabama at Bear Stadium.
