Bears Hold Firm in Tulane Classic Presented by Chad Brownstein

NEW ORLEANS, La. – With the second day of golf complete at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein, the Central Arkansas women's golf team finds itself in sixth place, after shaving 11 strokes off of yesterday's score. With one more round on deck on Tuesday, the Bears find themselves within shouting distance of the top three.

Valeria Ramirez continued her impressive play, maintaining her top-10 status with a 5-over 77. Through 36 holes, the freshman is in seventh place, leading the team. Starting out one under after six holes, Madison Holmes looked poised to make a move up the standings, but slid just a little bit into 16th, shooting par on 14 of the 18 holes on day two.

Elin Kumlin was the big story of the day for the Bears, rebounding spectacularly in the second round, making one of the biggest leaps in the standings. Rising 30 spots, the senior shot an even 72 to move up into the top-25, staying rock solid as the field moves to day three. Camila Moreno also moved up, albeit a smaller jump, firing a 77 on the second day of the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein. Pim-orn Thitisup also improved her standing in round two, playing a 4-over 76, finding four birdies in her second time around the course.

Chattanooga's Kera Healey moved into the top spot after a 3-under 69 second round, dropping Purdue's Ashley Kozlowski to second. Boilermaker Danielle DuToit sits at third place after two rounds. Purdue widened its gap at first place, followed by Tulane and Incarnate Word, who both made moves up the team leaderboard.

The teams will play one final round on Tuesday, wrapping up the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein.
