SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Central Arkansas tennis program dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to the Missouri State Bears on Sunday morning.
UCA, now 3-4 in the early going, yet again won a point for their efforts in the doubles matches. The freshman pairing of Konomi Miyakawa and Vichitraporn Vimuktananda secured their second doubles victory on the weekend, while Sumomo Hamanaga and Nanoka Kazama helped secure a point for the Bears. Hamanaga and Kazama's narrow 7-6 victory proved large, as it ended up being the difference and earned a point for the Bears. UCA's first two singles players in Jaeun Lee and Vimuktananda earned victories Sunday morning. For Lee, it was her fifth straight singles victory. For UCA, this weekend was their last road matchup before four straight weekends of home matches in Conway.
UCA will return home to Conway on Saturday, February 18th to take on in-state foe Arkansas Tech in a double header. The first match will be at 10:00 a.m. with the second match at 2:00 p.m.
