HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Two rounds in the books at The Judson, and the Bears are off to a dazzling start, capping the day in first place with just one round left. All four counting scores are in the top-20, with freshman Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir currently in third place.
 
Thorsteinsdottir tallied nine birdies across her first two rounds, playing her way to an even 144. Her first round was a 2-under 70, marking four-straight rounds that the freshman held a sub-par score, a streak that includes all three rounds from last week's event. Madison Holmes ended the second round in tenth place with a score of 146. She penciled in five birdies overall, with three in an even 72 second round.
 
Valeria Ramirez also posted a top-15 score in her first day, capping her second round at 3-over par. The sophomore had two birdies in round one, but exploded for five in the second round, including four-straight from holes eight through 11. Pim-Orn Thitisup made a splash in her second round as well, tallying four birdies across the first 12 holes to lower her score to a 4-over 148 by the end of the round. She moved up 24 spots into the top-20 with a second-round score of 70. Ayami Takahashi turned in a 9-over 153 after 36 holes, adding a birdie on 18 in the first round.
 
The Bears had the best round among the 12 competing teams in round two, moving up from second to first, sitting in a tie with Southern Miss at a 6-over 582. Tarleton State rounds out the top-three, ten strokes back of the leaders. Tarleton's Lou Deltombe leads the individual leaderboard, three strokes above second place Ashley Goh. The pair are the only two golfers to finish below par through two rounds. Thorsteinsdottir is in a four-way tie for third place at an even 144.
