MADISON, Wisc. – The Central Arkansas men's golf team wrapped up the Badger Invitational with a pair of top-10 finishers in
Zach Little and
Mark Stockdale. Both freshmen finished four under par to lead the Bears to an eighth place finish.
Little and Stockdale finished in a tie for ninth, as Little added two more birdies to his three-round score, totaling a 212 with 12 birdies and an eagle. Stockdale, also at a 4-under 212, tallied five birdies in a third round in which he scored a 1-under 71.
Palmer McSpadden penciled a birdie and an eagle on his scorecard, punctuating a 76 for his third round with an eagle on 16. The senior needed just three shots to finish a 556-yard par five, the second Bear to tally an eagle at the Badger Invitational. He finished in a tie with
Harrison Arnold with a three-day score of 221. Arnold, a fifth-year transfer from Minnesota, added three more birdies to his count for a third-round score of 72.
Harry Ollington played his way to a 5-over 77 on Tuesday, adding one more birdie for a three-round count of seven holes under par.
Florida Gulf Coast held on for a one-stroke win, edging out Illinois State and Middle Tennessee state, who tied for second place. South Alabama's Joshua Hill shot a third-round of 67 to leap into first place, beating FGCU's Austin Cherichella by one stroke. Cherichella was tied with MTSU's Owen Stamper for second place with a final score of 7-under 209.
