HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's golf team closed out the Diamante Intercollegiate with the second-best round in the field, finishing the event in third place. Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir capped her run in sixth place, a monumental achievement for the freshman.
 
After three rounds of golf, Thorsteinsdottir finished with a 2-under 70 in her final run. It marks a third-straight round under par for the freshman, who returns to Conway with a 7-under 209. Her 12 birdies were also the most among any Bear. Madison Holmes also finished in the top-15, burying three birdies on the back nine to make a nice final climb up the standings. Holmes would finish with eight birdies across her three rounds. Pim-Orn Thitisup saved her best for last, shooting a 2-under 70 on Tuesday to climb 11 spots up to 20^th. The senior added three birdies to finish with a three-round total of 11 after 54 holes.
 
Camila Moreno played as an individual at the Diamante Intercollegiate, and returned to form with an even 72 on Tuesday to finish with a three-round score of 217. Moreno dominated the back nine, playing two holes over par in round one before keeping everything at or below over the next two rounds, tallying six birdies on just the back nine. Valeria Ramirez penciled in a 3-over 75 for her final round, capping a 2-over 218 for the three-round event. The sophomore tallied nine birdies across her 54 holes.
 
Ayami Takahashi continued her solid first year in Purple and Gray, playing her best round of golf on Tuesday. Her 1-under 71 feaured four birdies, including three-straight from holes 14 to 16. She was one of three Bears to finish with double-digit birdies in Hot Springs. Tanja Csaszar played her way to a 5-over 77, scattering three birdies throughout her final round. The senior finished with five birdies across three rounds.
 
Cal Baptist finished with top honors after 54 holes, playing a 12-under 276 to overtake Boston College, who ended up in second. The Bears maintained quality play throughout to finish in the top-three, scoring under par in all three rounds. Georgia State's Pariya Sanpanawat played a 5-under 67 to move into first place, followed by Arkansas' Abbey Schutte. Three players, including two from Cal Baptist, finished in a tie for third.
