ATLANTA, Ga. - After claiming the program's first individual medal since 2018, Mark Stockdale has been named the ASUN's Golfer of the Week. It marks the first of the season for the Bears, who finished sixth at the Everett Buick GMC Classic.
 
Stockdale was on fire in all three rounds of the Everett Buick GMC Classic, playing all three rounds below par, with a personal-low of 66 in the second round. He had two rounds under 70, ending the tournament with a 5-under 67 to win by three strokes.
 
Even more amazing, Stockdale is just a freshman. The England native has been tearing up the courses since arriving in Conway, earning his third top-10 finish and second top-5 finish in Purple and Gray. His award is the first of the season, and the second Golfer of the Week award by a Bear since central Arkansas joined the ASUN, after Luke Sienkiewicz won one of his own last year, also as a freshman.
 
After finishing play on Tuesday, the Bears are hibernating for the winter, resuming play in February.
