WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Central Arkansas men's golf team wrapped up the Purdue Fall Invitational with a ninth place finish on Tuesday. After 54 holes of golf,
Zach Little led the team, finishing in the top-20, his second such finish in Purple and Gray.
Little added four more birdies to an already impressive count, finishing with four on Tuesday for a total of 12. His three-round score of 1-over 214 saw him place 17
th out of 84 golfers.
Harrison Arnold and
Mark Stockdale finished round three as they did round two: tied with one another. The pair finished with a 3-over 216, with Arnold turning in two more birdies and Stockdale finishing his third round with a two-day total of nine, securing top-25 finishes for the duo.
Palmer McSpadden signed off with an 8-over 221 after 54 holes, collecting five birdies across his three rounds. He finished a stroke ahead of
Luke Sienkiewicz, who added three more birdies to his count on Tuesday. The Bears were the second-best team on par-five holes, playing those to an average of 4.60 strokes, and finishing 18 strokes below par on the long-distance holes.
Specifically, Arnold was seven strokes below par on the par-five holes, with Little right behind him at six-under. All five Bears were better than par across the par-fives.
Purdue finished on top of its own event, soaring up from fourth with the best day of the field, scoring a 9-under 275 to claim the top spot. Illinois State finished in second place, a stroke behind the Boilermakers, and VCU and Illinois finished in a tie for third. Illinois' Jackson Buchanon and Illinois State's Valentin Peugnet ended the tournament in a tie for first place, with Purdue's Herman Wibe Sekne moving up 12 spots into third.
The Bears are back on the course next Monday and Tuesday, competing in the Little Rock Invitational to close out the fall season.
