Bears Welcome Golden Hurricane to Conway

CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team will play its home opener on Thursday as the Bears welcome the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa to Conway. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time from the Bill Stephens Soccer Complex.
 
The Bears enter the contest with a 1-3 record and are coming off of a 2-0 shutout victory against Little Rock on Sunday. Emma Hawkins scored her second goal of the year, while Kelly Van Gundy scored the first goal of her career. Hawkins leads the squad with five points, while Van Gundy has three and Laurel Landry has one point. Keyla Perez and Kajsa Pruner have split time in net for the Bears. Perez has made 18 saves on the season and her save percentage of .818 ranks third in the ASUN. Pruner has made six stops on the year. The two keepers combined for a clean sheet last time out.
 
The Bears and Golden Hurricane will meet for the fifth time on Thursday. Tulsa holds a 3-1 series advantage, including a 2-1 victory in Conway in the last matchup on Aug. 26, 2016. Tulsa is currently riding a three-match winning streak against UCA.
 
The Golden Hurricane enter the contest with a 1-2-1 record on the year. TU is coming off of a tie with Missouri State in their last contest. Liliana Fernandez, Jadyn Chee, and Isold Runarsdottir lead Tulsa as each has scored a goal. Emma Malsy has played every minute in net for the Golden Hurricane and has made 21 saves on the season.
