CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team takes to the road for a contest with ULM on Friday. The Bears look to bounce back from an 0-2 start of the season as they take on the Warhawks.
UCA opened the season in Arizona, where the squad faced an Arizona State team that was receiving votes in the preseason polls. The Bears dropped their second contest in Arizona against Grand Canyon. Despite the slow start, Central Arkansas turns its focus to ULM.
This will be the 14th meeting between the two programs. The Bears lead the overall series 8-5-1 and are riding a six-game winning streak, including a 3-0 victory in Conway. The Warhawks hold a slight 4-3 lead on matches played in Monroe.
Emma Hawkins leads UCA with the lone goal on the season. She is currently tied for seventh in program history with 20 goals and ranks ninth with 47 points. As a team, the Bears have tallied five shots on goal and have allowed 27 shots on goal.
Keyla Perez and
Kajsa Pruner have combined for 16 saves in net for UCA. Perez is tied for 23rd in the NCAA with 13 saves, which leads the ASUN.
ULM is entering the contest with a 1-0 record after the Warhawks defeated Texas Southern in overtime, 2-1. Ermelinda Pantaleao and Theoni Zerva pace ULM with one goal each. As a team, the Warhawks have put 11 shots on goal and have allowed just three shots on goal.
